2007 3M Performance 400
08.19.2007
Michigan International Speedway
Race Summary:
It was the race that didn’t want to be run, as the 3M Performance 400 was rained out for two consecutive days, leading to the first Tuesday Cup Series race in 30 years. When the green flag finally dropped, the superstars came out to play. Nextel Cup champions Kurt Busch, Jimmie Johnson, and Matt Kenseth all led large chunks of the race, as Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. all made moves toward the front. In the end, a second stunning spin by Jeff Gordon in as many weeks set up a green-white-checker shootout, with Busch taking the win over Martin Truex, Jr.
