Race Summary:

Anytime NASCAR visits Talladega, the outcome is going to be wild. Put five million dollars and a little history on the line, and "wild" isn't a strong enough word! First there was a bizarre pit road wreck between Hendrick Motorsports teammates Jimmie Johnson and Casey Mears. Then came "The Big One", involving Johnson, Ricky Rudd, Jeff Burton, and Kyle Busch. The conclusion brought a green-white-checkered finish that featured a daring late pass by Jeff Gordon and the second "Big One" involving seven cars, including Tony Stewart. In the end, it was Gordon taking the win, moving into 6^th place all-time and tying Dale Earnhardt for career restrictor plate victories.
