Race Summary:

The champions came out to play at Fontana, as a long list of Nextel Cup legends each took a turn up front in the Auto Club 400. Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart, Kurt Busch, and Mark Martin all spent time at the point. In the end, it looked to be a two-car shootout for the finish, pitting the Ford of race leader Matt Kenseth against the oncoming Chevy of Daytona 500 champ Kevin Harvick. In the end, a mysterious flat tire denied Harvick a shot at the victory, but a late green-white-checker finish still gave Kenseth plenty of work to do before earning the win.
