2007 Coca Cola 600
05.27.2007
Lowe's Motor Speedway
Race Summary:
Since 1960, the Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte has been NASCAR's version of a marathon, the longest race on the schedule by a full 100 miles! This year, the marathon was more like four hour sprint, with 29 lead changes among 15 drivers during a guessing game of waiting on caution flags and figuring fuel efficiency. An all-star pack of leaders - including Kurt Busch, Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart, and Matt Kenseth - ended up falling by the wayside as some underdogs rolled the dice on fuel mileage. The result was a first-ever win for Casey Mears and a first-ever top five finish for Toyota, coming thanks to Brian Vickers.
Drivers:
Dale Earnhardt Jr., Denny Hamlin, Jeff Burton, Kyle Petty, Mark Martin, Matt Kenseth
