Homestead-Miami Speedway
Race Summary:
On a day when all eyes were on eventual Chase Champion Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth put on a dominating performance to win the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Kenseth controlled the action much of the way in his Roush Ford Fusion, leading for 217 out of 264 laps. Following a late-race yellow flag and ensuing restart, Kenseth held off a final charge by Kurt Busch and pulled away to take the checkered flag. Busch finished second, followed by Denny Hamlin (3rd), Jeff Gordon (4th) and Carl Edwards (5th). Kenseth’s victory, coming on the heels of four straight top five finishes, landed him fourth overall in the final Chase standings.
