2007 Life Lock 400
09.30.2007
Kansas Speedway
Race Summary:
Since the Chase for the Nextel Cup format made its debut in 2004, Kansas City has been Upset City, with two wins by non-Chase drivers – Joe Nemechek in ‘04 and Tony Stewart in 2006. When the ’07 finally ran off the rain and took the green, it was another non-contender, Greg Biffle, who found the front. Behind him, the title contenders suffered their second straight slam-bang week, as Denny Hamlin, Jeff Burton, Tony Stewart, Martin Truex Jr., and Matt Kenseth all ran into trouble while Kyle Busch was wrecked by his future replacement, Dale Earnhardt Jr. In the end, Biffle had to outrun Clint Bowyer and a hard-charging Jimmie Johnson to earn the spoiler victory.
