2007 Pennsylvania 500
08.05.2007
Pocono Raceway
Race Summary:
When the green flag dropped on the season's second visit to Pocono, all eyes were on Dale Earnhardt Jr., who was not only on the pole for the first time in nearly five years, but fighting to hang onto the coveted 12th position in points. His closest rival in the Race for the Chase was Kurt Busch, who also turned out to be his biggest rival for the Pennsylvania 500. Busch withstood challenges from Earnhardt, Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Reed Sorenson, and defending race champion Denny Hamlin to earn his first win of 2007, leading an astonishing 175 of 200 laps and snatching the 12th position from Earnhardt...for now.
