In October 2002, Jamie McMurray won his first Nextel Cup race in only his second try. The second win seemed like it would never come, his oh-fer streak having reached nearly five years. Under the lights at Daytona, the night was wild from the green flag forward, including a bizarre wreck between Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Denny Hamlin and Tony Stewart, who were running 1-2 at the time! But the night belonged to McMurray and Kyle Busch, who swapped the lead three times between turn four and checkered flag before McMurray took the photo finish by .005 seconds, the second closest recorded finish in NASCAR history.
