2007 Sharpie 500
08.25.2007
Bristol Motor Speedway
Race Summary:
Whenever NASCAR travels to Thunder Valley, USA, one thing is predictable – the result will be unpredictable. With Kasey Kahne on the pole and perennial Bristol favorites Kevin Harvick, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kurt Busch, and Jeff Gordon looking racy, it looked as though the usual suspects would rule the night. But during a surprisingly clean 500 laps of racing, it was Carl Edwards who became the car to beat. With 144 laps to go, he eased around Kahne to take the lead, and then held off Kahne, Clint Bowyer, and Tony Stewart to take his first career Nextel Cup short track victory, a race he called, “The biggest win of my career.”
Drivers:
Carl Edwards, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Denny Hamlin, Jeff Burton, Tony Stewart
